1. WhatsApp – Recently Deleted & Cloud Backups
WhatsApp now has a built-in Recently Deleted folder (up to 30 days) and recoverable backups.
- Check Settings → Chats → Recently Deleted (if available in your version)
- Android: File manager → /WhatsApp/Databases → msgstore.db.crypt15 files
- iPhone: Settings → Chats → Chat Backup → iCloud restore on another device
2. Snapchat – Cache & Data Request
Snapchat auto-deletes snaps, but cache and server archives can still hold copies.
- Check Memories (swipe up in camera)
- Android: /Android/data/com.snapchat.android/cache
- Request My Data → Settings → My Data → Submit (email arrives in 24–48h)
3. Instagram DMs – Download Your Information
Deleted DMs can be recovered from server archives for a limited time.
- Profile → Menu → Your Activity → Download Your Information → Messages
- Android: Notification History (Settings → Notifications)
4. Facebook Messenger – Archived Chats & Data Download
- Messenger → Profile → Archived Chats
- Facebook Settings → Your Facebook Information → Download Your Information → Messages
5. Telegram – Secret Chats & Cloud Export
- Settings → Export Telegram Data → Chats
- Secret chats are harder — check local cache folders
6. Discord – Message History & Data Request
- User Settings → Privacy & Safety → Request Data
- DMs are harder to recover without backup
